Pay regardless of success.
Or pay proportional to it.
Rewardful bills you $49/mo the day you install — whether the program earns a dollar or not. Herd is free until you make $1K/mo of referred revenue, and the rate bends down as your program scales: 10% → 5% → 2% → flat contract. You only pay more when you're really feeling the success, and the percentage gets smaller as the success gets bigger.
Two pricing shapes.
Two different businesses.
How a vendor charges you tells you what they're optimizing for. Flat fees mean the vendor gets paid the same whether your program is thriving or dying. Variable pricing means the vendor only earns when you earn. Read both columns; you'll see why we built the company this way.
Flat fee, paid regardless.
$49/mo from day one. Same $49/mo if your program brings in $0 next month. Same $149/mo at scale, even if the program quietly stopped working three months ago. Their incentive is your subscription staying active — not your referral revenue growing.
- Their bill grows when you cross arbitrary tier caps, not when your program wins.
- Once you're past the trial they have no skin in whether your program ships another reward.
- Renewal logic is built around your inertia, not your outcomes.
Variable, paid proportional to growth.
Free until you cross $1K/mo of referred revenue. Above that, you pay a small percentage of the revenue we're bringing in. The bigger your program gets, the smaller that percentage gets. Our bill only grows when your business grows.
- If your program stops working, our bill drops with it. We notice. We come help.
- We only make money when you make money. Renewal isn't a contract, it's a result.
- The rate bends down as you scale — so we have to keep helping you grow to keep growing ourselves.
Yes — at scale, you'll pay Herd more in absolute dollars than you'd pay Rewardful. That's the deal. You'd be paying us more because the program is working — and we'd be working harder to keep it that way. That's how aligned incentives work. See the curve →
Three things they charge $49/mo to not include.
Your customers click "refer a friend," land on someone else's website, and see someone else's branding. Reviews call it "a generation behind." Herd renders inside your own settings page — one line of React, one continuous experience.
Rewardful's base plan exports a CSV. You (or your bookkeeper) wire payments to PayPal or Wise once a month. Herd uses Stripe Connect — partners onboard once, money moves the moment criteria trip.
When a partner crosses $600/yr you owe them a 1099-MISC. Rewardful collects W-9s only on their Managed Payouts add-on. Herd collects W-9 / W-8BEN at signup and tracks the threshold per partner — at no upcharge.
Rewardful's Starter caps tracked affiliate revenue here. Hit it and you're forced upgrade to $99 or $149.
Every Rewardful customer who hits the cap is a Herd convert.
Rewardful's Starter tier looks cheap until your program works. The month you find product-market fit on referrals, Rewardful raises your bill by 2-3× — same product, just more expensive because you succeeded. Herd doesn't have a cap. We have a curve that bends down as your program grows, so success doesn't punish you — it earns you a smaller effective rate as you scale.
Fifteen minutes.
Same affiliates.
Export your affiliates from Rewardful as a CSV. Drop it into Herd's import. We generate fresh links and email each affiliate the new URL with a one-click migration. They keep their existing referrals on the books; new clicks attribute to Herd.
Start the migration →What carries over. Affiliate names, emails, payout addresses if present in the export. We map their existing commissions to a "legacy" status on their dashboard — read-only, for the record.
What doesn't. Rewardful's external portal sessions. Affiliates will see your in-app widget instead — that's the upgrade.
Watch out for. Refund clawback windows running on the day of migration. We default to honoring Rewardful's existing window for any Rewardful-tagged conversions; you can override per-program.

Rewardful is the comfortable choice.
Herd is the right one.
Nobody got fired for picking Rewardful. Nobody got promoted for it either. If you want a flat fee and don't care that your customers see someone else's brand at the most loyal moment of their journey, pick Rewardful. Otherwise: try Herd. The first $1,000/mo of referred revenue is on us.
